School Schedule

Practical Training

Four hours of practical training will consist of the manual classes such a survival training, homesteading, industrial skills, media training, business, etc.  Also during this time, students will be called upon to assist in keeping up the school maintenance, food preparation, and wherever they are needed as they are willing.

It is our desire to provide practical training into ministry by action.  Students will be immediately given the opportunities to teach Sabbath School, preach sermons, teach children classes, cooking classes, health classes, leading song services, giving Bible studies, etc.

 Text Books

Our primary text book is the Scriptures (KJV) and Spirit of Prophecy, our method of study is the proof text method.  Our message is the three angel’s messages of Revelation 14.  Our mission is to lighten the earth with God’s glory (Revelation 18). Pioneer writings will also be used but held as subjected to our primary text books and method of study.

Accreditation

Our school is against accreditation and does not respect or issue out degrees, diplomas, or any kind of accredited recognition.  Our school provides training that will be wholly unrecognized by the world.  Our school is mission driven and its object is to hasten the Lord’s return.

We know quote from E.A. Sutherland, “However, the most dangerous element in degree granting does not seem to be comprehended by those Christian educators who cling to the custom. A degree is a sign or seal of authority. In the Christian church “the conferring of degrees was originated by a pope” as a sign of his authority over the educational system. Today degrees are conferred by the State, and the State has no right to set its seal to the work of an institution unless it can approve the system of education offered by that school. The degree is a sign of its approval…
“If we are building up our work in such a manner as to encourage students to seek degrees, there is great danger that we will compromise on the true science of education in order to retain the State’s seal or mark. Seventh-day Adventists are not ignorant of the fact that even today the Papacy has the control practically of all education, and in a short time this will be openly avowed. Then the inspection of our degree granting schools will be done directly by the Papacy, and a degree, if granted, will again come directly from that organization. It will be a seal or a mark of the beast…
Men wear degrees as women wear fine bonnets, jewels in their hair, rings in their ears and on their fingers, and gay ribbons flaunting in the breeze. Consider, for example, the ornamental value of A. M., M. S., Ph. D., or the social value of such a tremendous decorative combination as that enjoyed by Mr. James Brown, A. M., Ph. D., LL. D., D. D. Each one of these titles costs as much as a diamond of moderate size, or a large pearl (not the Pearl of great price), and is worn for practically the same reason.”
Studies in Christian Education – E.A Sutherland

“Our ideas of education take too narrow and too low a range. There is need of a broader scope, a higher aim. True education means more than the persual of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” {Ed 13.1}

Courtship and Dating

There will be no courting or dating between students. Our school encourages self-government. Staff will not follow students around with suspicion because students are simply enjoying each others’ company.  With that said if a student is demonstrating improper behavior around another student that is not in standing with normal fellowship such as touching, holding hands or using improper words to another student, going off alone or etc. they will be questioned and asked to leave.

Dress Reform

We expect that each student shall follow the light given by the Spirit of Prophecy in “dress reform.”  Females shall wear dresses or skirts that pertain to covering the entire lower extremities (legs) and shall refrain from wearing any tight or form fitting clothing.  Makeup, nail coloring, and jewelry shall not be allowed at any time. Males shall also dress modestly, refraining from the wearing of shorts which expose the legs and from any tight or form fitting clothing. Men’s hair cannot be longer than 4 inches. Women should not have hair shorter than their shoulders. 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.”  Students who do not adhere to strict guidelines in Christian dress will, after due warning has been given, be asked to leave the school.

Age

Students must be 18 or older unless accompanied with a legal guardian.

Accommodations

Primitive Beginnings
Students will enjoy building their own cabins that will be constructed in the first month of the school.  Until then their housing will consist of tents.   There is a comfortable shower house with hot water on the grounds. Outhouses are available.  High speed internet will be available at set hours on the grounds. Phone reception is limited and students will be encouraged to stay in contact with their families via email. Phone carriers that have a signal in this area are: U.S. Cellular, Verizon, and Net10

Food

Our food will be tasteful but also simple. All of the raw foods will be coming from the greenhouses that the students will be maintaining. Other foods will be prepared simply from bulk dry goods. There is plenty of food for each student to eat to their fill. If a student works hard and feels they want a third meal they are encouraged to make a plate from the second meal to save for later.
